New website for trade unionists representing meat workers

16/12/2013
EFFAT is pleased to unveil its latest website, www.meat-workers.org, a trilingual (English, German and Spanish) platform for trade unionists who represent workers in the red and white meat sectors to exchange information with each other.

All EFFAT affiliates working in the meat sector have now been provided with login details that enable them to sign in to the website and view news, documents, photos and videos relating to their sector, as well as upload their own.

Of particular interest is the report Putting meat on the bones: A report on the structure and dynamics of the European meat industry, which aims to give trade unionists dealing with the industry some new information and a different perspective on the challenges they face. The report is available in seven languages.

Multilingual videos also demonstrate the role of Works Councils and trade unions in meat processing plants in Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Spain and the UK.

The website is designed to be interactive, so users can also comment on news, or use the Forums page to read discussions started by other people or initiate their own. Users can further select whether they wish to start public discussions or private threads visible only to logged in users.

User can also keep up-to-date with new articles and discussions by subscribing to the meat-workers.org RSS feed.
