EFFAT Project “Promote industrial relations in the domestic work sector in Europe” - Call for tenders for a survey on industrial relations

As we already informed you, EFFAT has obtained EU co-funding for a project on domestic workers (DW). So far, no particular attention has been paid to social partners’ attempts to regulate the sector of domestic work. Building on the activities we have undertaken so far, this project intends to put a particular focus on industrial relations in the domestic work sector.

Main objectives of the project are to get an overview of industrial relations in the domestic work sector in Europe, i.e. to find out which trade unions / organisations organise and represent DW; what are the employers’ structures in DW; where do collective agreements for DW exist and what do they cover; where are functioning social partner structures; examples of successful industrial relations in the DW sector.
To get this overview we will ask for external expertise. EFFAT sent out today a call for tenders to a number of researchers in the field of domestic workers. Should you know any other competent persons or institutions for this piece of work, please do not hesitate to forward the call to them. The deadline for submission of offers is 14 February 2014. All further details and conditions you will find in the enclosed tender specification.
Those EFFAT member organisations organising domestic workers will be contacted later this year by the researchers on the issue. We kindly ask you to forward this information already to the responsible person(s) in your federation (or to any other competent unit in your confederation).
