In a win for trade unions, Autogrill Germany announced on 9 September that it would enter the national employer organisation for the sector, and extend coverage under the national collective agreement to its workers. This announcement represents a successful conclusion to the escalating series of strikes that workers at Autogrill had been engaged in since April, in a claim for better working conditions. Some had earned less than €8.50 per hour (Germany’s new minimum wage).
