Decent Work for Domestic Workers!
The final report of the EFFAT study “Promote industrial relations in the domestic work sector in Europe”, co-financed by the European Commission, is ready!
27 trade unions, 9 employers’ associations and 6 migrant/domestic workers’ organisations from 15 European countries contributed to the research on legislation, trade union organising, employers’ structures, social dialogue and collective agreements in the domestic work sector.
For the first time in Europe, we have a general overview of how service voucher systems work, what is in collective agreements for domestic workers, etc.
The final report is available in EN, FR and DE.
Domestic Workers in Europe Getting Organised!
The EFFAT booklet “Domestic Workers in Europe Getting Organised!”, co-financed by the European Commission, displays the findings of the study and shows many good practice examples of what trade unions do and can do to get domestic workers from isolation to organisation, e.g. through better laws and state-led systems, or through collective agreements with employers.
The booklet is available in EN, FR, DE, IT and ESP, and provides plenty of useful resources.
EFFAT member organisations are called upon to make good use of these publications, and to disseminate them widely to all persons, institutions and organisations at national, regional and local level interested and involved in the organisation of domestic workers and the defence of their rights.
