The European Commission has proposed a directive which would make it easier for companies to set up a company in another EU Member State. This should make it easier for small and medium sized companies in particular to do business cross-borders.
However the Commission proposal is so flawed that the European trade unions have asked the European Parliament to reject the proposal which is expected to lead to further social and fiscal dumping.
To this end, the European trade union movement composed of EFFAT, ETUC, EFBWW, IndustriAll-Europe, ETF wrote a joint letter to the members of the JURI Committee of the European Parliament to reiterate our strong concerns.
