The EFFAT Coca-Cola coordination group gathered together on 19 June to discuss the restructuring processes in the European Coca-Cola System as well as the current EWC negotiations in Coca Cola European Partners. The meeting was also an opportunity to present and discuss the outcome of the EFFAT comparative study on collective bargaining in Coca Cola.
Thanks to this study EFFAT analysed collective bargaining agreements of various countries at intersectoral, sectoral and company levels.
The study focused in particular on collective bargaining provisions regulating the following areas:
• Holidays and Leave of Absence
• Shift Patterns and Working Hours
• Remuneration Structure
• Performance Related Pay
• Pension Schemes
• Pre- or Partial Retirement Schemes
• Work/ Life Balance
• Vocational Training
• Stress at Work / Health and Safety
Group activities, common discussions and exchanges allowed the EFFAT members to set common goals in collective bargaining meant to be pursued in the next negotiations at national level.
The study is ready and will be formatted in a user friendly version in the upcoming weeks.
The EFFAT secretariat considers collective bargaining cooperation as an extremely useful exercise that allows workers’ representative from different countries to coordinate and better set a common trade union agenda at cross-border level. EFFAT will try to implement a more structured collective bargaining cooperation also in other transnational companies.
